The Catholic Youth Convention is back in 2023! We are so excited to be able to gather in person since the first time since 2019 for the 2023 Maine Catholic Youth Convention - Breaking Bread! We're back at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland and ready to welcome high school youth and their adult chaperones to come together to celebrate our Catholic faith. Our keynote speakers this year are Doug Brummel and Dave Wilson, together known together as The Doug and Dave Show. "Talented storytellers, musicians and stewards of the Faith, Doug Brummel and Dave Wilson joined forces in 2018 to create “The Doug and Dave Show,” an endeavor as fun and entertaining as it is Faith-filled. Doug and Dave have presented at major conferences, such as the National Catholic Youth Conference, the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress and the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, among others, while also leading music worship at major Christian events (such as the Broadmoor World Arena’s Faith Day with the Harlem Globetrotters in Colorado Springs, Colo.). Both men greatly value their vocation as husbands, fathers and serve their local parish family as worship leaders." There will be several breakout sessions, some of which will include different levels for those who are just starting on their journey and those who want to dive deeper. Specific times for parishes to gather together will be part of this year's gathering, as well as an opportunity for regions to meet in order to get to know each other and possibly collaborate in ministry efforts. Check-in will begin at 5:30pm on Friday and Convention will kick-off at 7pm We will walk to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for 10am Sunday Mass with Bishop Deeley. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Scroll down for the Convention registration process. Please reach out with any questions: [email protected] |
